Welcome to the travel and directions part of Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust's website.  We hope you will find the travel information you need.

Here we publish maps, information about public transport (including information and links to bus timetables), about parking and provide links to other websites.  If you need more help, try the national Traveline service (0870 608 2 608).

Have you tried the Service 10 bus to Scarborough Hospital?

Scarborough General hospital is well served by buses, especially from Scarborough town centre. The hospital has its own EYMS Bus Service 10, (please click for link to which shuttles between the town centre and the main entrance of the hospital (Woodlands Drive). Please click on the following link to see the EYMS Bus Service 10 timetable http://www.eyms.co.uk/documents/timetables/[138]10.pdf

Car Parking

  • The hospital sites in Scarborough and Bridlington are very busy each day.
  • In order to cope with the large volume of traffic entering, leaving and parking on these sites, we are developing a Travel Plan to help reduce car parking demand and traffic congestion.
  • Our aim is to ensure that there are parking spaces available for those who really need to bring their car on site.
  • No money destined for patient care is used for any of Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust's transport and travel initiatives.
  • We encourage our staff, patients and visitors to use public transport where possible - this minimises congestion and saves car parking spaces for those who must use a car.

Car Parking Charges

Pay and display car parking charges at Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals are as follows:

 • One hour - £1.20
• Two hours - £2.50
• Three hours - £3.50
• Four hours - £4.50
• Over five hours - £6.00

Disabled blue badge holders do not need to purchase a ticket if they are parked in a designated disabled bay.

Car park management is in operation at both Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals and enforcement notices will be given to cars parked improperly, for example on the pavement or not in a designated bay, or without payment.  Penalty charges are £60, or £30 if paid within 14 days, and are administered by an external company.

Patients will not be penalised for parking beyond their ticket expiry time as long as the delay is the Trust’s fault - for example if an outpatient’s clinic is running behind schedule.

Parking permits are available from reception for:

• Immediate family of patients who have been in hospital for more than one week
• Patients who have to come for treatment three times per week or more
• Parents who have a child on the Children’s Ward
• Parents who have a baby on SCBU
• Immediate family visiting a patient on ITU
